Why I didn't bother? (Taboo Tattoo and Gamers!)

I didn't want to make any post regarding this but then again, what the heck. It'll be just short and it'll be only about what I find interesting in these two series.

The anime Taboo Tattoo is entirely sci-fi fantasy and fighting, nothing more. I enjoyed most part of the anime but the thing is, it's quite bland. The first few episode explained how to tattoo's, the power of the characters, works but I was surprisingly annoyed how it turned from singular power up to god level power to a point of megazord battles.

The fallen princess, Touka, should have been given more emphasis, or to be exact, the tragedy of the main hero should have been given more priority. In the end, Touka died without making any established emotional connection with the audience, or at least to me. How the time skip happened and how he felt nothing after wards is what made his feelings for the fallen princess bland. Or at least, that's how I saw it. It wasn't given much emphasis.

You may ask, isn't the death of the fallen princess the same with what happened in Erased (anime)? To be fair, NO TIME SKIP HAPPENED in  the anime Erased. Other than that, the sister of the MC was really shown, and the effect of her death was REALLY SHOWN. Even though the characters and the power logic in the anime Erased got a bit overwhelming, it stayed true and logical.

As I said, the ending of the Taboo Tattoo just felt like mashed up sci-fi fantasy action. It went beyond the magical realism logic of the anime. Or rather, it suddenly became too much. God powers then turning to megazord battle?

As for the romance side, there is no connection between Seigi and Bluessy, that's how I see it. If it does, I guess it's all on BB, not the main character.

Next is the anime Gamers! I'd like to add it to my feel good anime list, then again.. I just didn't. I don't know why. It's main theme is misunderstanding while showcasing gaming. While watching the anime, I told myself, I'm watching Midsummer Night's Dream, with all the confusion and mishaps happening.

It's really a fun anime to watch. But it's unfortunate no clear up happened. Aside from that, this is the first time I've seen a love pentagon. Love between five people, or rather a misunderstanding between these people. Fortunately, I didn't ended up like School Days (anime).

Odd enough, I think I might have developed something like a trauma after watching school days. Harem is nice and all but betrayal and abuse leaves a bad taste to my mind.
