Mirai Nikki by Sakae Esuno

Such a very fun series to watch. It had me on the edge on every moment. I don't know but it followed a certain rhythm that each of the foreshadowing as well as capturing realism had on point, good or rather the best characteristic of awesome stories, at least in my opinion.

The gist of the series is: Deus Ex Machina the god of time and space, essentially the god of all, is dying and he devised a plan to choose a new god. If the current god dies without replacement all things will be destroyed. His plan was to gather people of different stature to join in a survival game and the one who survives until the end becomes the new god. The survival game had the players carry 'diaries' that will foretell the near future. The goal is to kill the other players and survive through it all.

Yukitero Amano, an introvert/antisocial and who always observe and records events in his diary, always thought that Deus Ex Machina was just an imaginary friend of his. Until one day, Deus gave him a 'diary' that foretells of the future, without telling him of the survival game he had made.

Later on Yukitero Amano met with Yuno Gasai, also a player in the survival. At first he thought that she will kill him until she confessed her love for him and that she has been stalking him for quite a while, a year, and that she will protect him no matter what. Her diary is the love diary of Yukitero Amano, basically she knows everything that Yukitero Amano knows, doing and what will happen to him.

As the survival game continues, Deus Ex Machina summoned the 12 players in his place, welcomed them and revealed to them the game he had made and have made all of them join. A proper introduction, after all, the winner will become god.

Odd enough, here are quite a few things I'm planning on writing about the series:

1. The Tragedy of Seventh (exchange diary)
2. Love of Yuno to Yuki, and his lie to her, she knew everything
3. Star Crossed Lover + Reconcillation in the OVA
4. A god's dilemma (non-OVA after story), the answer to the blasphemous thought (non-OVA), her lies to him

I just hope, my writing could do come to par, to such great anime.

On a side: the Firefly King cried as well, not on the romance of the two but on the god who won but failed :D
