Definitely a nice addition to my feel good anime.
I was expecting thrill and romance with this one but all I got was a good time watching the series. It depicts how parent truly loves his/her child, and what better way to showcase than have the main protagonist widowed husband carrying for his growing daughter.
The feel and charm of the little child truly captures the soul of how little children act. Even the time Tsumugi Inuzuka left home to find somebody to help her when her father, Kohei Inuzuka, was sick. She braved the streets just to get to someone she really knows and trust, Kotori Iida.
Even the little fights and squabbles between the parent and child. The scolding and caring of the father, it was all on point.
What hit me most and probably the most important thing to have happened in the series is the confession of Kohei to his daughter: as a parent "HE DOESN'T LIKE SCOLDING HIS DAUGHTER, BUT BECAUSE HIS DAUGHTER IS DOING SOMETHING WRONG. HE WILL DO HIS BEST TO SCOLD HER." Tsugumi realizes then how her father cares for her.
Odd enough, I do believe the lightness of the scene and the taste of the food will make her soon forget the lesson she's getting. But I'm pretty sure in the long run, she's growing up.
Another thing was when Tsugumi realized the mortality of her father. She became clingy to him, acting out like a cat, her hug and tears were truly on point as an only child of a widower. Even if she gets mad at her father, it is fact that she really loves him very much.
It was a nice experience watching this anime. I really had fun watching it. Somehow I was expecting a romance to bud between the student and the teacher while wanting it to not happen. It is supposed to revolve around Kohei and Tsugumi, first and foremost. But I wonder what happens after.
Also, I wonder what happens to Tsugumi as she grows older.
