Odd enough, I forgot about this until I recently watched a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG2vuX1h4aw&list=PLzA5vTfv8Rcn_djfwisNqAEX8ivPl43kT&index=41&t=0s
I just occurred to me that I didn't much talk about this. A grave dilemma, perhaps more confusing than a paradox that has cost. This one have no right, answer:
Yuno Gasai, of the second world, was right from the start killed by Yuno Gasai, of the first world. It happened after Yuno of the second world made a promise with Yukitero Amano of the second that they would marry each other in the future.
Here's the dilemma:
The girl/boy you've been with for, let say, 5 years, isn't the same girl/boy you've made promised with in your first year of being together. The second year of your relationship, she/he were suddenly replaced by "the same but not the same girl/boy" you've made promise with. Will you continue to love her/him?
If yes, what of the real girl/boy you've made promise with?
If no, does the later years have no meaning?
From start to finish of the series, I want Yukitero Amano to love Yuno Gasai irregardless of her secret and true identity. It doesn't matter, right? Yuno is Yuno. She loves her and he, at least upon realizing it, loves her. Is there any reason not to? Heck for the most part, she was there for Yuki right from the start. She was there protecting him. She loved him more than anyone could. She is by Yuki's side no matter what Yuki choose. She was there for him, always.
But then again, there's a creeping feeling inside me, as I continued to watch the series, what if she's just using her? If Yuki dies, it would also mean that Yuno dies as well... The Diary of Yuno wouldn't be useful if Yuki dies right? The Diary of Yuno is connected to Yuki after all. So perhaps she's just using her?
As the series progress, I came to deny it more and more. Yuno's love is beyond logic. Her love for him is real. I was very happy with the OVA ending.. But I came to neglect this issue. or rather dilemma.
Perhaps Yuki had to kill off his feelings for the one who died, the one he made promise with. He wanted to save her, the Yuno of the first world, even if she would want kill him. Yuki of the second world, will save Yuno of the first world.
Out of all the things that have happened, what Yuno of the first world told Yuki of the second world was true. "What's insane is this world that won't let me be with you."
This is her cry for help to him. Yuno of the first world knows that she will have to do this task over and over again, just for her to be with him. She was ready for it. But Yuki loves her. His feelings for her have materialized and have become true. He loves her. He couldn't kill her. He'd rather not be god if that would mean he won't see Yuno ever again. Yuki had to make a miracle. So upon realizing what Yuno of the first world had planned, Yuki must act. He must save the Yuno of the third world. A Yuno that is to him a complete stranger. But is what would bring closure to the Yuki of the first world.
When Yuno of the first world trapped Yuki of the second world in an illusory world, it was as she thought her last farewell to her. But she was too late to notice that Yuki's intervention have already done the impossible. A miracle. The complete deviation of the third world from the path. Yuno of the third world was saved not by Yuki but by Yuno's Father in the third world. Something Yuno of the first world couldn't see.
Her love for Yuki was true but it all came because no one saved her. Upon seeing how Yuno of the third world was saved, she had a change of heart. But she was too late. She had gone past the point of no return. She sees the miracle that have happened, believed it was Yuki's fault that this was all dawning on her. She's the villain at that moment.
But that wasn't the only miracle that happened, suddenly Yuki managed to free himself of the illusory world that he was in. A world where all that he wanted exists. He denied it all, because he love her, Yuno of the first world. He gave her a hug and because he couldn't keep his words of becoming a god, asked Yuno of the first world to stab him. If there is no home for Yuno, at that moment, at that precise moment, Yuki will be in her memories forever. That's what he meant by "I'll die, create a home for you," right?
Yuno stabs herself. She chose. She chose to be the one in that memory with him. And the kid who wanted to be a memory, becomes god. It isn't paradox, but irony. He gave her one last kiss before he ascended to godhood.
When Yuki returns to the second world, there was nothing to return to. He had given all for his love for her. Yet.. He had lost it all. I admire the mental fortitude of god Yuki of the second world. Ten thousand years in a void, with nothing but Murmur by his said. No creation. No anything. Just nothingness. He gave up but he kept his love and his principle. If he could do so, probably he could go to the third world and just did what Yuno Gasai did. But he knows it's wrong besides if he does, he'd be betraying his love for her. So waits in the void.
Until the OVA comes and real promise of Yuki of the second world to Yuno of the first world unveils.
I assume this is a pretty confusing post to read. gomennasai
