This just feels weird...

I just finished watching Himuoto Umaruchan s1 s2 and OVAs, then I just finished watching Happy Sugar Life... both stories recounts tales of people in small cages.

One tells the tale of a bird wanting to stay in a cage while its owner tries his hardest to set her to open skies, while the other is the tale of bird being kept in a cage hidden from the world.

The bird that wanted to stay in the cage is gradually learning to fly while the one who was kept in the cage flew but ended up in a different cage. But it was the bird who was hidden that was exalted. While the bird that is learning to fly, will have a lot more flapping to do.

To be honest though, these two animes are day and night... the similarity though is uncanny. Both the birds at the end of the day are cage and always awaits their master to home. They both needed love. And in my opinion, the love of both owner from the two animes are similarly extreme.

But to be fair, the genre is different as well, so perhaps not much comparison can be made.

I'm just sharing a coincidence that just so happened to me. Two birds, given love. One is tragic while the other is comic. I do hope for the comic one to be a tragic comedy. It will most likely spice up the show... though it's genre is also for children so perhaps it wouldn't...

Also, after watching the Happy Sugar Life, another strange thing happened... the Firefly King would have wanted to step in that Romeo Juliet like tragedy but just ended up watching. And while watching the Firefly King felt weird... it was the first time that he wanted to cry for the tragedy but he couldn't. Was it because he couldn't make a connection with the character or was it because of the twisted things the character did that made the Firefly King held back?

If so, can the Firefly King hold his title as king if he cannot cry over a demented sick and twisted villainous protagonist? Perhaps a weakness of his... he's just a firefly, anyway, right? Who knows...
