"I'm sorry
Little bird.
I must've
Dozed off.
But please
Keep going.
I'll hear
All your
Qualms and
Cheerful songs.

Even your
Most kept
Dark secrets
And gentle
White lies.

For you
I will
Stay awake.
So please
Keep going.

Forgive me
If I
From time
To time
Have to
Close my
Old eyes
A bit
Every time.

But please
Do go
And continue.
I'll listen.
Even if
My eyes
Were to
Stay shut
I'll listen.
So please,
Don't stop.

I'm here,
Little bird.
I'll hear
Your songs,
Even with
My heart's
Invisible ears.

Keep going,
Keep singing.
I'm here,
Little bird."
