Poetry #22

"Live a lie with me,"
The fairy once whispered.
"No one will find out.
It'll be our little secret,
Just yours and mine."

Her smile was sweet
As was her voice
And her little promise.

I asked, "What should I do?"
I was green and innocent.
I do not know anything
About secrets, promises
And silly little lies.

"Come with me,"
She said as she took my hand.
"It's not far from her.
But I need you to hold breathe"

I wanted to ask why
But as soon as she grabbed my hand,
It felt like she grabbed my throat.
I couldn't breath.
And so I closed my eyes.

What's going on, I thought.
Am I going to drown?
I don't want to die.
What's going on?

She moved back and I-
I opened my eyes.
She was smiling
In front of me.

"What happened?"
I asked her.
And she replied,
"Our little secret."
