"I did
Nothing wrong,"
the thief
said loudly.
The guards
Surrounded him
With swords
on hand.
"You are
Under arrest,"
The captain
Said defiantly.
"You say,
You did
Nothing wrong.
But stealing
is wrong,"
He continued.
"You took
Something away
From someone,
without permission,
without thought.
"Is that
not wrong?
Or pray
Tell me
You didn't
Thought so.
"All you
Could thought
Was just
Yourself, right?
And none
Else matter?"
"You're wrong!
I did
Not steal!
I only
Took back
What was
Not theirs.
"Taking back
Is different
From lying.
They lied."
The thief
looked earnestly.
His gaze
Unbelievably stern.
He defended
Himself unwavering.
He stood
His ground.
To him
He's right.
"But still
You stole.
Something called
A crime."
"They lied!
You know!
I know
You lie!
"But is
This it
You want?
"I know
You don't.
Tell me
Valorous captain,
Who's right?"
